I got the distinct impression that Jatuun did not want our passengers to know about him, so instead of introductions, we did all our standard landing protocols after scanning the planet for atmosphere and compatibility.
Tower seemed amused, Lil’bit was proud of himself and I was relieved more than anything. I did not like the idea of having to decide on doing something rash, like going back to the remains of the Parataph fleet, or explaining how I’d know that our few days away may have been a few minutes, a few ours or months depending on how time flowed between us and the fleet.
But then we decided to go back and see if we could find any stragglers.
We didn’t.
What we did find were the remnants of two fleets standing off against each other. Adalgisa was of the opinion that we should return to the Parataph, Akir and Almir were less inclined to agree.
I followed Tower’s lead and worked on translating what we could and staying out of scanner range since we had no idea what had happened let alone who won– if anyone.
