364-Valkyrie’s View: A Year Among the Stars
December 29th, 2552 – Piecing things together.
Consociation Pilot Kat James Reporting
Fipps spent the better part of the day trying to explain things to me. All I really know is that I was close to the void when the supernova hit. I tried to jump out of the way but there was no place to jump to— the well was gone, swallowed by a shock wave that rippled through the void.
I heard a song as I tried to let the wave carry me to safety without ripping me apart, and then I was completely alone. I was in the void – I was in what was left of the void, and then I heard a song, calling to me.
I followed it, behind me was a fury of destruction and the song sang of peace and clear water. I don’t know what it was but survival instincts kicked in and I followed it, back to the Fleet. I am alive, but I died in the void.
I don’t know if that counts as lucky or not. I’m still the most alive dead person I know.
