366-Valkyrie’s View: A Year Among the Stars

December 31st, 2552 – Forming a more perfect union
Consociation Pilot Kat James Reporting

One year ago, I was in a holding cell, contemplating what the coming year would bring. Today I find myself on the observation deck of the Valkyrie’s View, looking out across the horizon. I have seen things I could never have imagined and I try to think about what will come realizing, I haven’t got a clue.
Negotiations are underway for a new alliance, and they’re already talking about limitations and what information will be exchanged and what won’t.

It’s going to be limited by the participants and the region. If people from any of the member states decide they do not want to participate they can move on and explore other worlds, or return to their homes to rebuild.

The alliance is made up of the remains of the Vision Project, The Parataph, half of the Ani, and The Fates.

The Askmiri have elected to be a provisional member, taking a ‘wait and see’ stance on the whole thing.

And then there are The Others. They were not part of the war or part of the games that the Void Walkers and the Lasatiea had been playing, they were non-combatant observers – at least that’s what they claim. All any of us can say is they suffered from the conflict at least as much as we did.

They too are survivors, and if we are to continue to survive. We need to work together.

Kind of a New Year’s Resolution, I can live with that.
