I’m beginning to think my desirability is based on the phase of the moon – today I was ushered away from the 5.7 as the process of taking it apart revealed something.
Thing is, when they took apart my ship, my version of my ship- they ripped through it and did a full breakdown but the found Gumbo – they’re taking their good-natured time trying to analyze everything and they did not want me involved.
Hell, they tolerated Cookie because he was the chief mechanic on the Valkyrie. Mac, they were less accepting but he’s still senior to them and hell, he doesn’t care what they think or want when it comes to him. I’m not sure what side of the fence he’s on when it comes to me working on it, but I have to believe he’s trying to make sure I’m up for the job.
That means he bought me the time I needed to implement our ‘tweaks’ for the Gumbo. Some work is better than none, I guess— but I want to know what they found.
