Communications are a strange thing – you have to have a point of reference to have any hope in understanding each other. Andi proved to be our bridge— but she wasn’t really Andi anymore – she was a lot more one of the Fates that human. But between her, the Azizes and the Old one – there was a lot more understanding going on that would be expected.

I guess my reactions weren’t really all that human any more, especially standing there with the three… or five of us there.

Then, I had to explain things to the brass. It was going to be hard or would have been if an Ani fleet hadn’t arrived and started a bombing run on Jatuun.

I guess, from his standpoint – Jatuun ‘slipped’ out of there gracefully, but when you create a gravity well to open a hole into the well – and you come with your won gravity and you possess the mass of a planet the physics changes on an exponential level.

We almost got dragged into the vortex with him – as it was, we ended up moving in time rather than space, and Baljatuun left before the Ani found him.

While it feels good to breathe and not be afraid of having enemies show up from any direction – the pilots are still on alert and learning how to navigate the borders of the void.

While you can’t exactly go through the void, the well creates pathways through the void and we’re in the perfect place to practice finding places where you can jump and places where you can’t.

The others are starting to get the feel for it, which is good. I’ve had to hold off on visiting my new project because I can’t risk the fleet.

And then Aziz and Andi showed up along with Baljatuun. Yes, the entire planet joined us at the edge of the void— to talk.

My life has gotten very strange.
