280-Valkyrie’s View: A Year Among the Stars

I can only imagine how hard it was for Jatuun to relate to Aziz, and they are the same person at different stages in their evolution. From there, trying to communicate to the Older one and have her translate to me— that was like playing a speed game of telephone from one end of the universe to the other.

Everything got lost in translation but I was able to understand that we were in serious danger and while we were safe for now, safe was a relative term and there was always the possibility of someone finding us.

So – we need to use the reprieve to our best advantage – Science and Engineering need to go into overtime on the plans and scans we have from our rescue operations and the pilots need to figure out as much as we can about the void – the only thing is – when the void shows up in the mirrors of the well – there’s no telling where you’re going to end up.

So we have to keep our eyes open for signs of our area of expansion becoming unstable, odd wells opening up around us and all the while keeping an escape route open.

Aziz, Andi and I did our best to keep the brass from seeing the old me, because, while I think they no longer command her, they do command me and – that just gets all kinds of confusing.
