It’s hard to tell how normal time is passing – except for the fact that the Ani are now fighting the Parataph. Any attempt to find out what happened and who started what results in getting shot at.
It’s clear someone is pulling strings and the non-aggression pact didn’t survive contact with the people we agreed not to attack. All I know is the areas that were being colonized are a hulking wasteland.
I know Baljatuun is out there somewhere but things can’t be going well for him or the fates. I’ve started working on a new ship, using what we’ve learned from the wreckage we scanned. The information makes more sense when I can put my hands on it and work with the pieces.
Form follows function, or function follows form – either way having something physical and not theoretical is just easier for me to deal with. I think if we can move with the edge, rather than holding to one area of the edge until it gets too thick and then moving on, we might be able to use the time difference to our advantage.
I don’t know – I need to talk to Fipps and see what he can come up with. In the meantime, we need to figure out who our enemies really are.
