The dust between the Ani and the Parataph seems to have settled, with a new republic in their place. Everything looked good from the outside, the inside— not so much.
I was on a scouting run when they saw me and before I could react they’d surrounded me. In my cockpit, with guns drawn. It seems our time shifts have been more erratic and riding the expanding wave instead of following it has left us further out of synch than we thought.
It seems that we had passed into a footnote in history – the strangers that showed up and avoided them. The boogie men who showed the Ani a new way.
Not all of us – the part of the fleet that had remained apart from us had joined the battle – bringing a peace of sorts with them in charge.
They say I have much to answer for. This does not bode well, but if I’m to find out what happened— I need to follow this through and see what I can learn.
