With the help of the Parataph and scrap leftover from Lasatiea attacks, we have assembled a fleet hiding near the planet of exploding fireflies. We’ve added energy signatures of an active fleet and enough control to move them into position when needed.
The fleet won’t survive an actual attack, but it was never designed for that. All it takes is a jump gate pilot or two that can transport themselves and the fleet anywhere we want them to.
The idea is to make a big enough trail to be seen, but small enough that we can maneuver it through the jump gate and lead the enemy to a location of our choosing. That means we want them to be able to see just a hint of the fleet and nothing more.
It’s part of that whole war of distraction. The idea is that as long as they think there are more of us than there are, they may leave us for easier targets – or they may spend all their time hunting the ghost fleet while the rest of us figure out a better plan of attack.
Sometimes superior numbers and technology are a blessing and sometimes the best offense is playing a completely different game.
