In addition to the Shadow fleet, we have formed a total of 7 fleets, all kept in separate quadrants, never staying in one area too long, moving to give the appearance of more all the while looping in on itself so that when they move into the well, each ship passes through twice.
We’ve made sure that the fleet appears close enough to the void so that the Void Walkers can see them, but far enough away that they can’t affect them. But we’re always moving now.
That increases the chances of being seen and followed, but it also means that they have to move to keep up and since we know where we’re going – one of our shadow fleets might be able to lead pursuers into a place where they might be inclined to negotiate with us.
Lord knows we can’t keep this up indefinitely. All we’re really doing is buying time until we find a really, really big stick.
