One thing leads to another

As you may or may not know… I write… a lot.

Some if it is long and well thought out, some is so well thought out it never sees the light of day, but to keep me going and producing fiction that is actually out there and available to read, I write flash fiction.   It gives me post-worthy writing between sessions of writing and editing my magnum opus (and doing documentation/design/software testing and all that pesky ‘real-life’ stuff that pays the bills.)

So – a few weeks ago,  started with ThursThreads, a weekly flash challenge I try to write for but unfortunately Thursdays aren’t usually good for me.  (I never could get the hang of Thursdays.)

But this week, I made the time.  I wrote what I thought was a decent story and realized as I was going over it… it wasn’t what I originally thought: it was an origin story.  The title I gave it was “Ember and Ash” since it was (originally) about a fire, and moving on.

I then tackled Midweek Blues Buster, another weekly flash challenge that runs from Tuesday to Thursday… or maybe Friday (have I mentioned I have no concept of time?)   This time the story I wrote wasn’t exactly new.  It was a continuation of Ember and Ash.    It’s interesting how one thing leads to another, and you can see the seedlings in the flash fiction.

Something to think about.
