252-Valkyrie’s View: A Year Among the Stars

September 8th, 2552 – Containment

Well, things went from dealing with twelve-year-olds to dealing with Angry armed conspiracy theorists today. The two scientists I brought back were starting to devolve into 12-year-olds, but the others were forming enemy camps and voting everyone off the island.

I barely made it to my ship before they started trying to pile on top of her and keep me from taking off. As it was I could only get about 25 meters off the ground before I was caught in a containment field designed by angry, very smart twelve-year-olds.

I radioed my situation to G-man, who told me to wait in line— seems some of the pilots were working on their own containment fields.

As it was I had to hover in place for three hours while they hurled rocks and signal flares at my air intakes before a relief ship came and sprayed the area with knockout gas.

It was another half an hour before I could safely land and then I had to figure out how to turn off their containment field. I opted for the Alexander solution and cut every wire in the bunch.

When I woke up I was in a containment ward with the rest of the landing team. Seems I missed some excitement with the military pilots before they were rounded up as well.

Valkyrie’s View deployed a skiff for us to use as a mobile field hospital about 12 LD’s from the View with a lot of remote services being provided.

I’m mostly under observation at this point since I had less exposure but I’m still on the skiff so— I may not be 100%. We’ll see.
