284-Valkyrie’s View: A Year Among the Stars
October 10th, 2552 – The children’s table

When I was a kid, and distant relatives would come to visit on some holiday, the adults would have a veritable feast – all the fancy foods and the good dishes would come out— except for the kids. I remember being relegated to the kitchen and having hot dogs and mac ’n cheese on plastic plates.
When Baljatuun and the Void Walkers started discussing our situation and things in general— I had that feeling all over again. The adults were talking and we were to be carefully packed away.
Truth be told, I’m kind of used to it – but since the brass and fleet diplomats were usually the ones giving me a plate of junk food and telling me to make myself scarce— the had a much harder time having it done to them.
We have, as Baljatuun pointed out, potential but we are young. I also noticed that Druckab and the Ani children were also relegated to the kid’s table with the rest of us.
When the meeting finished, It was recommended that we stay just this side of the void and move as it withdrew, keeping the same interval.
I have the distinct impression that the Void Walkers will watch us and try to warn us if the Lasatiea make their way to the area.
It’s kind of humbling to have your greatest leaders and scientists treated like someone’s prized sea-monkeys. As long as they don’t tap the glass, we should be fine.
